Chilean Sea Bass

Both stores have a fresh catch of Chilean Sea Bass today.  This is a wonderful fish with great texture and a rich, mild flavor.  It was grill last night with just some lemon, salt, pepper, and olive oil (to keep it from drying out).  Try some tonight!

The Farragut Dock wants to make sure you know that Captain Allen is back at the helm! He has been in dry dock for by-pass surgery but is fine now and back at work. He has also been doing some heart-healthy eating and is ready to share some of these recipes with you, so come on in and welcome him back!

The news continues to be good out of the Gulf.  Our boats and other suppliers report that shrimp prices have begun to stabilize.  We are still able to get oysters out of Apalachicola so that is reassuring as well.   It has been an ordeal for everyone in the Gulf region and we are so thankful that the worst appears to be over.  Now the focus must be on recovery for the people and the environment of this vital area.

We at the Shrimp Dock want to thank you, our customers, for your continued support during this difficult summer.  One of the most effective ways for us to help rebuild the livelihoods of our suppliers in the Gulf is to  continue in our mission to purchase only wild caught, fresh Gulf shrimp.  We have been able to sustain this effort throughout this crisis and intend to increase our purchases every week to do our part in helping our partners in the Gulf rebuild their industry.  Please join us in this effort to get the shrimpers and fishermen of the Gulf back to work so that they may restore their lives.

Crawfish season is almost over and we have supplies coming in this week on Thursday….call ahead to be sure of your order for any big 4th of July plans you have!  And be sure to reserve your shrimp boil pots early as well…..this promises to be a huge party weekend with the 4th falling on a Sunday.
